I’ve been working with this family for many years. This year, they decided they wanted to be out in nature more so we found some spots along the Poudre River in Fort Collins to frolic, play, and capture some authentic, candid photos of this beautiful family.
I also wanted to showcase this shoot as it features older children alongside their parents. While it is often easier to photograph families when their children are younger, I want people to see that it can be done (and done well if I do say so myself) when the kids aren’t really kids anymore but tweens and teens. It can sometimes be a little more work to get everyone to relax, lose the self-consiciousness and let their guard down in front of my camera, but I think the payoff is more than worth it. ((Trust me, I’m going through this right now with my own kiddos who are at the age where it doesn’t come as naturally to them to allow me to photograph them candidnly)).
If you’d like some candid and more documentary photos of your family and older children, I’d love to hear from you!
